South Africa's new cell phone law could negatively affect the industry's growth, says MTN.

According to allAfrica.com, "LEGISLATION to increase cellphone penetration and make it more affordable could backfire and end up slowing down the industry's growth, MTN has warned.

Two pieces of legislation affecting the industry had noble aims, but were badly drafted and likely to be badly implemented, MTN SA's MD, Maanda Manyatshe, said yesterday."
