Google, the search engine giant has agreed to censors itself to gain broder access to the Chinese market.The company which has faced much cticisim for this action at home and world wide, has defended itself by saying that moving out of Chinses market will be more damaging.

Google is set to launch google.cn for the Chinese audience.

Interestingly, Google recently announced its hiring of Dr. Larry Brilliant as Executive Director of Google.org, Google's philanthropic foundation. Brilliant has won numerous awards for his work in the health care sector, particularly the work he did in India. I have to wonder if the timing of the announcement was a carefully planned PR strategy to offset the controversy of the China censorship.
